Lefties hit .194 against Embree
Not your typical “lefty specialist” Alan Embree more than holds his own against southpaws judging by the .194 those hitters have against him. That compares favorably to the .261 average righties have against the Sox setup man. Embree’s main problem is laundry. Translation: what uniform the Sox wear that night.
Embree’s stats at home far exceed those away from Fenway. At home, all batters are hitting a whopping .169 against him. On the road, it’s .289 with five home runs. For only 22 innings pitched so far in 2005, that’s quite a bit.
So, before you say ‘oh not, not Embree,” be sure to look around and see where they’re playing. At home, we should be all right. On the road…not so much.
